Assassin's Creed Origins Review: A breath of fresh air

Assassin's Creed Origins is the tenth and latest addition of the Assassin's Creed video game series developed and published by Ubisoft and it is in my opinion the best instalment of the series so far.

Released in 2017, the game serves as an origin story to the raging war between the Assassin's and the Templars and follows the story of Bayek, a Medjay tasked with protecting Egypt and it's people from any threats that may harm the nation.
The game is set in the Ptolemaic period of Egypt and the player is able to explore the deserts, oasis', cities and environments of Egypt in a never seen before way in the games franchise.

The story, animation, customisation, game-play systems of combat and the franchises iconic 'free-running' have been revolutionised from the previous game titles and creates an immersive world where a player can get lost in the dazzling scenery and action that the game provides.

Before the release of Origins, the Assassin's Creed series was developing a severe case of franchise fatigue with Ubisoft being criticized for rushing the production of games and not offering unique and memorable gameplay experiences. After taking a year off to develop Origins, Ubisoft have proved what they can do with a  patient release system and have showed that they can develop action-adventure stealth video games like no other in the industry.

Rating 9/10.
