Brigitte joins the battlefield in the new competitive season of Overwatch

The support/tank hybrid hero was released on March 20th, but due to a new rule by Blizzard she was restricted to normal matches until season 9 had ended. This was done to give players time to get used to her play style and ability kit.

Brigitte's kit consists of:

Rocket Flail: A melee attack with an extended range that can hit multiple enemies and heal her and her allies.

Repair Pack: A single target heal that can either restore her allies health, or  give them a temporary shield if they have full health.

Whip Shot: Brigitte lashes out with her flail, damaging and knocking back enemies.

Barrier shield: A shield that can block projectile damage.

Rally: Gives Brigitte extra movement speed, and her and surrounding allies are granted a temporary shield for the duration of the ability.

   Overall her addition to competitive matches has been well received by the Overwatch community, and she is a perfect pick for teams looking for a front line healer that can shield/heal her allies, and also deal moderate amount of damage herself.
